The short version: your family’s memories are private, are not sold, are not advertising data, and are not used to train foundation AI models. You choose what to save, who joins the family circle, and whether AI processes each capture.
1. Scope and who operates the service
This policy applies to the Morrowlore mobile app, public website, waitlist, and related closed-beta services. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the operator of Morrowlore.
Morrowlore is an adult-facing family memory service. It is not intended for children to create accounts or submit information directly.
2. Information we collect
Account and caregiver information
This may include your name, email address, authentication identifier, family role, account status, consent version and time, and permissions.
Child profile information
This may include a child’s first name, date of birth, optional pronouns, and optional avatar. Date of birth is used to place memories at the right age.
Family Content
We receive only what you choose to capture or upload: written notes, voice recordings, photos, short videos, captions, dates, prompt answers, and related metadata.
Service-generated information
When AI is enabled, this may include transcripts, titles, summaries, quotes, themes, developmental dimensions, tags, confidence signals, embeddings used for recall, and links between moments. We also store albums, Firsts, family invitations, permissions, and corrections you make.
Technical and waitlist information
This may include IP address, request time, device or app version, operational and security logs, error details configured not to include default personal data, waitlist email, child age band, and referral source. We do not need precise location, advertising identifiers, or your phone contacts to provide the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and secure accounts and family circles;
- store, organise, search, display, export, and delete memories;
- transcribe and enrich captures when you choose AI assistance;
- surface Firsts, albums, themes, quotes, reminders, recaps, and long-term threads;
- operate the closed beta, answer support requests, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve reliability;
- manage the waitlist and communicate when a beta place opens; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect families, rights, and safety.
We do not use Family Content for targeted advertising, sell it, or build advertising profiles.
4. AI processing
AI assistance is optional for each capture. When enabled, relevant text, audio, images, or video and limited child context such as first name, age, and optional pronouns may be sent to our AI processing provider to produce the features described above.
We currently use Google Gemini through paid API services. We do not use Family Content to train our own foundation models, and we select API services under which prompts, files, and responses are not used to improve the provider’s products. Providers may retain limited data for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and service operation under their applicable terms.
You can save a plain private memory without AI, edit AI-created text, remove incorrect dimensions, or delete the moment.
6. Your family circle
People invited to a family can see the information available in that shared family record. Some may also add memories. The inviter controls each person’s role and whether they can capture or are read-only.
Invitation codes should be shared privately. Review the family list and remove access when it is no longer appropriate. Removing a person does not automatically remove memories they contributed.
7. How long information is kept
We keep account information and Family Content while the family account is active so the service can preserve the longitudinal story you asked it to keep. Waitlist information is kept while the beta is being offered or until it is no longer needed.
When you permanently delete a moment or family account, the active record and associated stored media are removed. Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or provider systems until they cycle out, or longer where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve security and integrity issues.
8. How information is protected
We use safeguards appropriate to the closed beta, including encrypted network transport, authenticated access, family-level authorisation checks, short-lived or controlled media access, rate limits, and logical separation between families.
No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials and invitation codes private, maintain copies of irreplaceable originals, and notify the beta operator through your invitation channel if you suspect unauthorised access.
9. Your controls and rights
Depending on your role and applicable law, you can:
- choose what to capture and turn AI off for an individual capture;
- correct profile details and AI-generated descriptions;
- manage family members and capture permissions;
- download a complete family archive, including original media;
- permanently delete individual moments;
- permanently delete the family account and stored media; and
- withdraw from the closed beta.
Export and account deletion are available in Our People → Data & privacy. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request involving a child or another family member.
10. Children’s privacy
Morrowlore is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create accounts or submit personal information directly, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from them. Morrowlore is for parents, legal guardians, and authorised adult caregivers, who may use the service to preserve memories about children of any age.
Adults decide what information about a child to provide and must have the authority and consent needed to provide information about the child and other people appearing in Family Content. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or submitted personal information directly, or that a child’s information was provided without proper authority, contact the beta operator through the invitation channel so the account and information can be reviewed and, where appropriate, corrected or deleted.
11. Public website and waitlist
The public website collects an email address, optional child age band, referral source, and basic request/security data when you join the waitlist. It does not use advertising pixels or behavioural-advertising cookies.
The website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages and loads fonts from Google Fonts. Those providers may receive technical information such as IP address, browser details, and request time when serving the page or font files.
12. International processing
Morrowlore and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Privacy and data-protection rules may differ. We select providers and safeguards appropriate to the service and limit access to what is needed for the stated purposes.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the beta and its providers change. We will revise the effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes through the app or beta communication channel.
14. Questions and requests
During the closed beta, contact the operator through the same channel used for your invitation. For routine access, correction, export, or deletion, use the controls in Our People → Data & privacy.
